London Mandolin Festival
Dave has been asked to conduct a concert mandolin orchestra to play in London at The Big Wheel Theatre in Farringdon on Sunday the 17th May 2009. 4.30 and 7.00 p.m. It is being organised by Mandola player Ian Segui. So far he has 40 players with mandolins, mandolas, guitars and two basses. The programme is an eclectic mix of modern classical, traditional and folk pieces including two suites.

Success of Day Course on Baroque Mandolin with Frances Taylor

BMG Summer School 2009
David will be teaching again at The British BMG Federation Summer School 10th – 12th July at Urchfont Manor, Wiltshire.

Bristol Mandolin Ensemble going from strength to strength.
Bristol Mandolin Ensemble has been going for two years now and has grown to thirteen members. The Ensemble is all mandolins and is an opportunity for players of all abilities to meet together and play music. The music is arranged in 3 parts so players can choose the level they feel comfortable playing. The ensemble meets every fortnight on Saturdays at Horfield Methodist Church in Bristol. Any players interested in joining call Dave on 0845 4660259 (local rate).
Recording project to make available a play along for the Ranieri Tutors
Dave is embarking on a project to record many of the duets in Silvio Ranieri' s 'L'art de la Mandoline' books one and two. The recordings will be made in stereo so players can play along to either track by switching the stereo balance on their amplifier. This is a long term project and recordings will be made available as MP3 files for download until there enough to produce CDs.
Recording children's CD project
Dave can be heard on bass and mandolin on the CD 'Let's Go' of children's songs for the Play It, Music for Everyone series. www.playit.org.uk
