Brejeiro booked to play concert in Scotland
After playing an impromptu lunchtime concert at the BMG Rally last year, Brejeiro have been booked to play the main Concert at the 2008 Rally in Scotland on Friday 29th February 2008 . The venue is Murray Owen Centre, 1 Liddell Grove Murray, East Kilbride, G75 9AD. After honing their stage act at regular performances at the Mission Theatre in Bath the band are due to start recording their first CD to be ready early 2008.
Dave invited to teach at the next BMG Summer School
After a highly successful Summer school this year where Dave taught a Latin class covering Tango, Bossa Nova and Choro he has been approached to teach a Blues Mandolin class at next years Summer school in June. The venue has yet to be confirmed so watch this space for further information.
Bristol Mandolin Ensemble going from strength to strength.
Bristol Mandolin Ensemble has been going for two years now and has grown to thirteen members. The Ensemble is all mandolins and is an opportunity for players of all abilities to meet together and play music. The music is arranged in 3 parts so players can choose the level they feel comfortable playing. The ensemble meets every fortnight on Saturdays at Horfield Methodist Church in Bristol. Recording project to make available a play along for the Ranieri Tutors
Dave is embarking on a project to record many of the duets in Silvio Ranieri' s 'L'art de la Mandoline' books one and two. The recordings will be made in stereo so players can play along to either track by switching the stereo balance on their amplifier. This is a long term project and recordings will be made available as MP3 files for download until there enough to produce CDs.
